Hello, I have a LAN that uses a cable modem to access the internet. I have Win2K as server ( 2 nic's one for router, other for netgear hub ) The Win98se hooks up to Hub. We can play games fine, share files fine. But, the only way that the Win98se machine can surf the internet is for me to activate a proxy ( analogX ) I recently had Win2k on the Win98se machine, but formated and installed Win98se, cause of it haveing a old 3Dfx Voodoo Banshee. When I did have Win2k on Win98se machine the internet worked fine. I had,( and still have ) Inter Connection Shareing ( ICS ) enabled. I want to know how to have Win98se like I had Win2k. I can't use ICQ, and some games dont work, on the porixy.

Thanks for your time.

Win98se also has ICS, so use it instead of the proxy software that you downloaded. Or, download and try other NAT or proxy software.

Ok, I enable ICS on the Win98se machine and it says that my network hardware is not properly configured... This is not true cause everything is ok, and we can still play games.. surk with proxy...

Try switching the setup, Connect your Win98 machine to the DSL(with the Second NIC installed of course) and you its ICS to connect the Win2K server to the internet.
