I have a 3Com Home Click LAN setup at home (2 computers) and a calbe modem access. However, I cannot seem to get them BOTH to work. How can I set up the system so the modem comes into the hub, then to the computers, yet still have full-speed LAN file and print sharing?

well if you want to do it that way, you have to purchase another ip from your cable service, so you can have 2 ip's, just put the cat5 cable, of your cable modem into the uplink port, and both of your computers are suppose to have a nic each, and get a cat5 cable and stick the other end to the hub, do that with both computers, what operating system(s) do you have?

well the equpiment that you need is 2 cat5 cables(excluding the cat5 cable of your cable modem), 2 network cards, 2 ip addresses, a 4 port hub or higher , a cable modem so you can connect that to you hub, and an operating system

I'd get a router or convert an existing system into a server before I'd purchase another IP.
