printer sharing

Are both computers accessible over the LAN?
Is the printer shared?
Which computer is the printer pysically attached to?

Printer is hooked up to PC only w/cable, the internet works on both computers, this is our first attempt at printer sharing so it is possible that Im missing something very basic, I thought that checking the enable file and print sharing box is all we had to do. :confused:

You need to share the printer. Start | Control Pannel | Printers | right click the printer and select sharing

And run the Add Printer wizard on the laptop, but instead of selecting an LPT1/Parallel printer, select Network Printer and point the installation to the printer on the LAN.

Can anyone help us with printer sharing? We have 2 computers connected via a hub/switch and dsl service, one is a pc and the other is a laptop, the pc prints fine but the we can't seem to get the laptop to print, we enabled file and print sharing on both computers and configured the printer (Cannon bci21) are we missing something? Both computers are running WIN98..... Thanks ... :confused:
