Hi,
I have to PCs with 10/100 baseT NetGear NICs (forced to 100BaseTX Full Duplex) connected via a cat 5 crossover cable. I also have Analogx's NetStat Live running on one of them. One PC is Win 98, the other is Win Me.
When I try (and I do mean 'try') to transfer files from one to the other (about 7Mb) the Windows copying box comes up and say's it'll take about 6 minutes! NSL displays between 0K and 32K for about 30 seconds then I get an error saying the network is busy!!!
Does anybody have any idea why this should be happening? Is it because one of them is Win 98?
Thanks in advance,
Sandy
