For some reason, my LAN rus slow. It's a bit strange however. File transfers are fine, but navigating from directory to directory, and getting the file lists for each directory CRAWLS.

I have TCP/IP binded with nothing but my ethernet adapter, and IPX/SPX binded to everything. What suggestions are there?

Are you using a hub or a switch? Are the network cards on half-duplex or full-duplex? :)

Full duplex cards on a switch.

IPX is ONLY needed for order LAN games which don't support TCP/IP.

You may want to try NetBEUI as the LAN protocol. If you do, unbind File/Printer Sharing and Client for MS Networks from TCP/IP and bind it to NetBEUI instead. This goes for all systems on the LAN.

Remove any unnecessary protocols/adapters from all systems on the LAN.

Do you have the latest NIC drivers for each NIC on each system?

Went ahead and double checked on the drivers (I'm anal about having the latest drivers anyway) and they are current.

Contrary to popular belief, IPX/SPX isn't a protocol only for games that don't support TCP/IP. It has a lot more potiential than that. NetBEUI is a great protocol too, however it's not routable like IPX/SPX is, which is why I've chosen IPX/SPX in the 1st place.

Any other suggestions or ideas? =)

IPX's routable capability is useless unless you have multiple LANs and NetBEUI usually performs the best on small LANs. And I know it's not just for games, however, that has seemingly become the extent of it's use these days. :)
