I a cable modem with a direct connection into one comp then out to a cheap hub then into another comp. We set up a network with windows ME and can both use the internet simutaneously, but there is only one IP. The comp with the direct connection to the modem can download and upload, whereas the other comp can only download. I was wondering if we should get wingate or sygate or any other way to assign the computers different ip addresses with the fastest possible connection. No internet sharing program is currently used. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
