Dumb ? prob, well can i still share my cable if i can;t be pinged.. another question. Dumb too. will my cable modem still work if i rout my cable connection through a tv 1st of a vcr? because i want to install a tv in my room, but only one connection.. will cable modem work with all the cable ports in house or just the one it was installed

Some cable companies have cable line A and line B. line A is used for TV (low bandwidth) and line B is used for cable modem (high bandwidth). You can, however, check and see if it works. If not, don't worry, you won't damage anything :)

it probably wont work because the cable your internet comes through is completely different cable then your tv, i believe the tv cable is rg-59 and broadband internet is rg-6
