I want to network my 2 home computers to allow them to use my @HOME cable modem service. Is it possible to use Wingate and setup one computer as the server with 2 NICs and have the other directly connected as a client. Would I be able to connect the two systems together without using a hub. SO can I have a network with 2 systems, 3 NICs, cabling, WINGATE software and no hub ????

Yes, all you need to do is runover a crossover cable in between the 2 pc's and you should be good to go.

Whats the difference between a RJ45 UTP Patch cable and a RJ25 CROSSOVER CABLE, which is the better one to use.

a patch cable is not a crossover, a crossover cable is used to connect to computers through there nics directly, a patch cable is used to a hub then to a computer. anything that is not a direct connection. if you only have two nics use a crossover cable, if you have a hub or router use a patch cable, the real difference is in the color code they are made in. hehe
