Got filesharing through a router working... what are normal speeds I should get copying a file pc to pc? its a 100mbps network.

100mbps = ~12MBps, however, actual performance ultimately depends on the computers and data involved in the transfer. How many MB did you copy and how long did it take?

Well, I transferred about 400 MBs, and DUMeter never hit 1MBps... it took about 11 minutes. I know that my HDs are not that slow.

The pcs are
1ghz athlon
128MB ram
60 gb udma hd

and
433 celeron
192 MB
6 gb hd

Are you using a hub or switch and are your NIC capable of 100mbps?

Yes, both NICs support 100mbps, and Im using the netgear router (the 4 port one)

actually, forget the speed for now, i have a bigger problem.

every file I transfer from pc to pc gets corrupted!! I transfered some rar files (work perfectly on the pc i transferred them from) and then on the recieving pc they are corrupt!! whats going on?

btw, thats with anything I send pc to pc, and it doesnt matter which pc sends! everything gets corrupted!

I m not sure about that, but sometimes after file transfer, like 500MB of my disk space disappear...either from the host or from the client
