Got filesharing through a router working... what are normal speeds I should get copying a file pc to pc? its a 100mbps network.
100mbps = ~12MBps, however, actual performance ultimately depends on the computers and data involved in the transfer. How many MB did you copy and how long did it take?

Well, I transferred about 400 MBs, and DUMeter never hit 1MBps... it took about 11 minutes. I know that my HDs are not that slow.
The pcs are
1ghz athlon
128MB ram
60 gb udma hd
and
433 celeron
192 MB
6 gb hd
Are you using a hub or switch and are your NIC capable of 100mbps?

I m not sure about that, but sometimes after file transfer, like 500MB of my disk space disappear...either from the host or from the client
