i used drtcp to set my mtu at 1492, but every time i go to dslreports.com and try the tweak tester it says my mtu is 1362!!! it is slowing me down about 15-20 kbps. any help would be greatly appreciated!!
thank you!!
first I would go to the registry myself and see what it accully is. do this by typing regedit in the "start, Run menu. you can find the right registry key by going here
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP]

OK, What this means is that 1362 is the Max that your ISP or the first router in the network will accept before it partitions that packet. this number is good to know to tweak your RcvWindow setting. it should be a multiple of your MSS ie...4Xmss or 8Xmss.
(ps) there is a way to ping your isp and find that exact amount size packet it will handle. let me know if your interested
