Hi everyone,
i've still got problems getting the internet on my desktop which is connected to an access server via a crossover cable.
I'm still not sure whether it is possible, my server has got two NIC's in it(1 ATM & 1 Ethernet Card)the ATM card is the one which is used for internet requests(registered IP address)and the other card is connected to my desktop via the crossover cable.
both of the machines ethernet cards have a 192.168.*.* ip range and the ATM card in the server has a 212.250.**.*** and a gateway of 212.250.**.***
What I am not sure of is what i need to set the gateway to on the servers ethernet card because it must be on the same range i.e 192.168.*.*
The internet works on the server, i acn ping the servers ATM card from the desktop, i can ping the desktop from the server, IP forwarding is enabled.....what am i doing wrong?
I appologise if this isn't making much sence but i have been sitting here for far to long now.
Thank you to anyone who can help.
Cheers.
