You need to configure the router using the DNS, Gateway and static IP assigned by your ISP. Make sure that NAT is enabled for your internal network.
Can't diagnose much more than that unless I have some more details http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif

first of all you need the information sheet your ISP gave you now go into your internet browser and type http://192.168.0.1 , then enter in the username and password..should be admin and 1234 as the password, then click on setup and follow the instructions....oh if your ISP uses the PPPoE adapter, i'd sugest uninstalling it from your pc............if you have any more problems email me (yes i have the netgear router rt314)

i got the same problem..some people i can send files over icq and some i can't.........and about your ftp...the router's firewall automaticaly blocks all incoming ftp tranfers.........you have to disable that in the firewall setup

hello, I have the RT314 and I am having problems transfering files over ICQ and setting up a Temp FTP server, this just for basic file transfers between friends.. I have tried giving him my IP from my ISP and from what my router assigns me.. but he is unable to connect, it just times out.. Is there any documentation or advice you can give me. And ICQ will transfer to someone without a roter, but not to someone with.. I can also recieve from someone with a router, this is all new too me so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

I talked to tech support yesterday and basicall told me I need to diasble nat, and that it is a minimal protection and that a software firewall would be more secure.. So I guess I'll delete all the filter settings and start running zonealrm again.. All I wanted it for was for the switch and the ability to share my Internet connection..
