Can someone help me? I have a 3com Homeconnect Cable modem, connected to a linksys 4-prt router with 3 computers connected. 2 work...each are connected directly with a cable. The other one is connected with a netgear 10/100 hub, with the hub connected to the cable modem through the uplink port and the computer connected regularly. the computer cannot view any others on the network or connect with the internet. the router is set for dhcp serving, but the non-connecting computer will not obtain an IP address from the dhcp server, even though it is set to do so. HELP please

If you have three computers and a four port router why are you using a HUB?

Make sure that the cable going from the uplink ports on the hub and router is a crossover and not a straight-through.

using a hub because I am going to have another 2 computers added soon in the same area as the one that doesn't work, easier to put the hub in now than later

To the hub may have to be crossover but from the modem to the router has to be straight cable.
