Ok, i have a Linksys 4 port router. when i turn my PC on, (running win2000) and a little "disconnected" icon is down next to the clock. It doesn't go away, and it says "Network cable disconnected" or something... it doesnt connect! arg. i have the windows 2000 PC set for DHCP, as i am supposed to, and its in the same workgroup as the other one (running ME, and working)

HELP!

The disconnect icon is most likely a problem with the cable. Trying using a different cable on that node and that it is straight-through and not a crossover cable.

Use a different cable, you may have a bad cable or NIC.

Also may be the port in your router.
