i have 3 cable modems right now on 3 computers and they all can dl at the same time 1mbs i was wondering if there was any way to combine the 3 modems and network the other cpus together.... the modems only allow one ip address and i dont know how to make them share one .... i have winntadv on the primary cpu ( 1.4ghz thunderbird athlon)
win me (833mhz dell) and win 98 (533 hp) and a dummy (233 hp) is there any program or setting to do this ( i have i a hub for the network and the nic cards for it )

It doesnt matter if you are using one or three because you will split the band-width anyways with cable modems. They are not dedicated lines all the way back to the server. They are split just outside your house. The best wasy is to get a Link Sys cable/dsl 4 port router switch about $120 dollars. Set up the Link Sys and enable DHCP you only need one IP from your cable provider and set all computers protocal settings to Automatically assign IP. The link sys will assign IP for your three computers. Basically the Linksys will have the IP/gateway/DNS your cable provider gives you then it will act as a DHCP server and will assign the IP's to each of your computers.
