See this thread for ICQ configuration with the Linksys router.

As for FTP, I use the Linksys and have no problems with FTP transfers. If it's only some FTP's that you can't connect to I suspect it's not a problem with your individual configuration.

I have the same Router!
What you have to do is go in the router admin page and Add your ip for your machine as a DMZ. This is done under the advanced tab, under DMZ. JUst enter your ip, which should look something like this 192.168.1.???.
Enter the last three digits of your ip # and that will allow you to recieve files and send. Both for FTP and ICQ. This is allows that IP to be exposed to the internet. If you do this be sure not to have any files shared on your computer through TCP/IP bindings under your network settings, for this would allow hackers to browse your infomation since your ip is now exposed.
Let me know if this works.

ACK! Don't set your computer as a DMZ! Just foolow the instructions in my previous thread and it will work fine. I have 2 machines running ICQ and no problems transfering files with port forwarding.
DO NOT USE DMZ! That is for when you don't want the computer to be behind the firewall.

what is the DMZ and where is it located. i want to disabvle my firewall. my IRC doesnt allow me to send files. if there is another way to allow my uploads without disabling my firewall i shall try that.
Yes if you find the ports its runs on then you can just forward those port to your computer and the files will transfer.
