Hello,
I have a NT domain set up using Win NT 4 SP6A and several win 98SE & win me clients. I can browse the network on the win 98 clients using network neighborhood just fine. If I use Win ME to browse the network, it is really slow in bringing up the servers icons. If I am using a share from the Win ME machine to the NT server, everything is ok. The problem is just in browsing with the "My network Places". Thank you for any input.

That's odd. My WinME browsing works ok. Brings them right up. Are all of your machines set to the same workgroup?

Are you WINS enabled, or are you using Hosts files?

I've tried enabling wins and it made no difference. Using Win 2k works just great. I've evevn tried different default protocols. ie. netbeui, ipx/spx. also, i've tried a new NIC & nothing seems to be making any differnce

I've noticed ME can be very slow with announcing itself to an existing network, lots of "browser delay" going on. If you have file and print sharing on the ME machines, make sure LM Announce and Browse Master are both turned off. Just let it sit overnight. I have done some with dynamic and static IP's, NetBEUI, it can just take some time. Can't stand ME.

IF you actually map drives for your other computers, the shares will come up much faster. ME and 2000 share the same TCP/IP stack (supposedly) and have the same problem.
