I ahve pretty much the same set-up at home. I'm using a 10baseT hub w/ catv UTP. This works fine for playing deathmatch with my roomate, but we don't share a net connection.
ANyways, the network control panel applet using NetBEUI is the way to go, relatively simple to set-up, is this the set up you want to use?

I want to network my two computers by HomePNA 2.0. One computer (server) has a PCI Netowrk card and the other has a USB. I installed them on both computers but I'm having trouble setting it up. Can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to network 2 computers. It says I should do it with NetBEUI. I would really be greatful. Thanks.

Loc-Nar. I looked up homepca.com not familiar with it either, suggest to you erie to install winNT #1 the most stable platform I no of.
Even fubarman doesn't mention as doe's erni if they have a router or at lest a swith or hub....So we can't really help you's with the scarce info you gave. I an afraid to offer any suggestion with such limited info.
I you don't have a swith (HUB) or router, go into network naighborhood and desinate one machine as the server. Enable your server for DNS with a host name and enter static ip's on the tcp/ip of you servers NIC card. then configure the default gateway to the internet. Again I feel reluctant with info you both have provided

what type of internet access do you have ?
if you have a dial up modem the "home networking wizard" in ME should help you,if you have dsl or cable access, then you need two nics on one of the machines.

I have a regular NIC that is going from my cable modem to my computer. I AM NOT NETWORKING THROUHGT 10 BASE T!!!!. I am networking throuhg HomePNA 2.0. I have a HomePNA card installed on my main machine that is going to the wall and then to my other machine. I don't have a router, hub, or switch. I am using my main machine (with cable) for now until I can get a HomePNA 2.0 router. The 2 computers see eachother fine, I just can't share internet access. DO I need to create a shared folder or something??? I'm a newbie at networking so bare with me. Lemme know if you need any more info. Thanks.
