Dear Fastpoint,
I am angry as hell at fastpoint, I got this service about a year ago and from the beggining I have had problems, I had to pay for all those months where my DSL was not working correctly and now after it has been fixed I am not getting the PINGS that I want in games, i've called fastpoint tech support many times before and they were no help at all to me, they all say the same exact thing "well uhh.. your DSL is up and running so we cant do anything, so shutup (exageration) and use your DSL that pings 100-150 to youre own gateway and ping over 150 to your fastest server, I also want to say that I am pissed because fastpoint advertises DSL on the east coast and it the name of the DSL is "Fast Point" and it has FAST in the title so we thought it was fast so I got the DSL, soon after we got it, we were proved wrong. I am sorry if this e-mail is very unorganized but I want to complain so much I have no time to think at all, I am so mad at the fastpoint techies at 1888-8-DSLNOW, they all say the same exact stuff or some of them will think they know what they are talking about but in truth do not and sound extremely ignorant, its like they dont care at all about your problems with your DSL service even if its their job to help people, Right now my ping to my gateway (XXX.XXX.XXX.X) is around 100-110MS which is pretty bad, and no that IS BAD, what ever happened to that router going up in D.C.? how could fastpoint suspend the bringing up of a new router when maybe thousands of users here are waiting for a router to go up like me, im sure there are a lot of people on the east coast who are as angry as I am at "fast"point DSL, I cannot get off of this service because I am in a 2 year plan, my DSL wasnt installed correctly since the beggining and I did not realize that for almost one whole year, I should be let off the contract because covad/fastpoint people did not install my DSL correctly from the beggining, if you really want your slow ass bridge bacK? ill send it back if you really want it that much, when I look at the ping times when I go into games, I would see pings from 20 MS to 50 MS and then I would look at mine which spikes from 160 - 600 ping, to say the least I could get that ping with my 56 k modem on my old earthlink internet. Then I ask them "Wow, nice ping XXXXXXXX, how much do you pay for that?" and they would reply "39.99 to 59.99" a month and I pay nearly DOUBLE as much as they do and they ping 3 times as low as I do.
The Bottom Line is,
1) I am angry at fastpoint for selling me service that didnt work from the beggining and are still charging me for service that doesn't work properly.
2) I'm sick of the tech support people who come up with all the smart ignorant remarks about my DSL saying BS that I could summarize by: "Your DSL is fine, you ping 140 thats just fine, BYE!" NO ITS NOT FINE, I pay 80 dollars a month for this DSL and I dont get normal ping which would be (10-50MS) to my gateway. I am sick of it and I will report them if they keep it up, I should have reported them to get them fired or disciplined or be put back in their training school a long time ago but i'm not like that.
3) I want to get off this "fast"point DSL but of course the contract that we signed stands in the way.
4) If i got normal ping times like 30-70 MS I would pay 80 dollars a month and shutup, but seeing that I cannot ping less than 135 to a server, I MUST complain because I pay TOO MUCH.
4) When we signed up we were guaranteed a 250 dollar refund, which I would have used to get off this contract but we never received the money.
5) A fastpoint techie said they would take 10 dollars off our monthly bill which would make it (69.99) a month instead of ($79.99) a month because I am so dissatisfied with my service.
6) Thank you for actually doing what you are paid for and reading and replying to my e-mail complaint.
7) I have this e-mail saved onto my computer and will continue to send it in until you reply back and answer my questions and help me.
8) I waited a whole year for that router in washington D.C. that was going up and about a week ago that was cancelled or suspended, either way my service terminates in November 2001 and chances are that the router in washington D.C. will not be up by then, I call in to say I want to cancel because i will not tolerate any more lies from "slow"point.

I am asking is there any way I could speed up my connection? I tried like every single of those TWEAK MTU type programs out there etc etc and to no avail... I ping 100-160 to my own gateway and cant ping under 100 to any CS server out there, and my ISP will not help my correct my problem, I know they can though by giving me more bandwidth and making my connection faster (without having me pay extra)
