Hi did a test today with my ports forward 7000 to 9000 and also 27900 to 27901
tried it with firewall up & down.
and have assigned static IP's to all pc's
I can see the game in the lan tab like before but also in the ut browser under death match.
could not see it befor. But when I join in under death match tab
after 10 min or so of play wild stuff stuck in the floor and in the air. now if I join under lan tab runs great no lockups.

The lan tab shows my lan IP. and the Death Match tab shows my public IP. so why does it act up under one IP and not the other?

just doing a few test befor I get the netgear 314 router. Thought it would be interesting to post this.
thanks tileman

Since installing tons of those Linkys for clients offices, I snagged on myself when I got DSL. Looked forward to hosting UT server on a second box, but when buddies connected, within minutes they complained of really weird graphics, anomalies, warped stretched stuff, spawning upside down, even black screens. I read up on forums, seems to be a pretty common problem with the Linksys and UT engines. Most attribute it to the inexpensive hardware under the hood of the Linky for the NAT. It's a wonderful little box for getting a network out, incredibly easy to setup and manage, very easy firmware upgrades, etc. But not robust enough for good hosting.

So I gave it away, got the NetGear RT 314. Less bells and whistles, bare bones web interface, advanced features through the antiquated telnet interface so far (possibly through web interface in future firmware?), but it simply runs and runs and gets the job done. I can host UT server, and lately Rune server, without the hitches the Linky had. www.practicallynetworked.com (http://www.practicallynetworked.com) benched it substantially faster than the Linky also. Only about 20 bucks more, but I think better quality under the hood.
