AOL tweaks (dont hate me)

I am an avid starcraft and unreal tournament player, but unfortunatly my dad wont switch to something else, we have aol. Are there any tweaks somewhere were I can make it more reliable or faster? Thanks a bunch.

dood, go to your modem advanced settings and turn error control off. In the extra settings box u want to put the init string to turn ur modem connect speed down to about 35,000- 38,666. if you have a 3com its AT@N25
next go to control panel/networking and turn ipx header compression off.
these settings give me a 120 and below ping with 56k
