I think it's time to quit assuming its your modem. Look at the things connected to it.

Does your modem work fine with a different computer? Or a different NIC card? Is you CPU properly cooled? With heatsink compound and everything? Different mobo?

You get the idea. I was replacing nic cards for an intermittent problem in my home network when it turned out being a cable with a broken wire that was missing once in a while.

Good Luck

while playing online shutdown programs like ICQ, messenger programs, anti virus programs and sometimes even Roger Wilco can cause freezing problems

What Video Card do you have? I have Diamond Stealth III, and I was having the same damn problem. I had to d/l a flash and some new drivers to resolve the problem, but it works good now. The game I play is Rogue Spear.

I hope it helps,

do you have a firewall program installed? Even though i have ZA set to accept games, it still can from time to time have a mind of its own.

maybe its just your phone company. I'm guessing your ISDN was thru the same company as your DSL?? Call them up and ask if anyone else is having the same problem.

you may have your power save option on in the power management file of you eternet card properties, This allows the computer to turn this device off in a low power situation

another thing is that you you may have to many devices on the same IRQ, i had this problem, sound, video, and ethernet card all on the same IRQ, check this out
