Ok, here is my computer specs: 750 mhz Athlon, 256MB pc100 RAM, 32MB Diamond Stealth III PCI Video RAM. My Throughout is over 3500kb when tested on various sites, but I still lag at Rogue Spear on the zone with more than 5 peeps. I was thinking(dangerous I know), Does Diamond make just a crappy video card, or does it have to have approved DirectX drivers, cause the stealth don't.

Well, I know for a fact that if you play Everquest with a slow card, or non optimal RAM, you definately will "lag", I don't care if you're on a T3, it will happen.

RicRogue, try decreasing game detail. eg. res, special effects, lighting options, etc.

Also, how do you connect to the 'net?

Why are you using such a sorry video card w/a AMD 750 and 256 megs of RAM? At least upgrade to a GeForce DDR.

The reason for the video card was,it was inexpensive (get what you pay for). But I just noticed another problem......This is weird!!! First of all I have a Mediaone Cable Connection. I tested my speed this morning @ 5:00am and I got a download speed of over 5000kbs, but my upload speed is only 70-90kbs!!! How could one be of T1 performance and the other of a 56k modem???? I'm fairly new to the cable thing, could someone help me out plz. Is this natural? Could I need a new NIC? Oh and I am planning on getting the VooDoo5 this month. Thanks for the replys guys.

I just got done talking to mediaone cable, and they said that http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/mad.gif they capped uploads to 128kbs. Am I getting screwed? Is this normal? Is this why I LAG? Could I ask any more darn Questions?

Thanks,

If you host and it lags, its due to your slow upload speed. If you lag when you play and dont host. its your computer or connection...

You video card has nothing to do with your Connection. There for if you lag its your Connection.. If your game is Sluttery with bad frames then its your video card,, There is no way your video card will get in the way of your laggy connection..

A poor Video card asked to produce high resoultion will give you the appearance of Lag as the card has to spend more time to produce the higher resoultion.

I've a Voo Doo 1000 (12mg of ram) and a 550 CPU, 56k win modem. I have to play Delta Force at 320x400 or I get fragged alot. I can't even play on line at 800x600.

I used a friends video card with 64 meg (G-force 2, I think) of ram and I saw a big improvement in game play. I still had Lag in games. But having a new video card is to your advantage.

Yeah "LAG" as in bad frames and stuff.. If you have a High connection like Cable or even DSL you shouldn't get lag.. Doesn't matter what kind of card you have.. Your connection lag has nothing to do with your Video card "LAG".
