Counter Strike LAN question over here!

I just set up a LAN at my buddy's house. I do not have a dedicated server for the LAN, but instead I host and play the game on the same comp. It's not as seamless as I expected from the LAN. When the LAN game is loading is says:

Server 27015

Client 27005

Is there a way to make these the same number? Will it even increase performance?

Those are the ports the game uses for connections. They have nothing to do with speed. See if there is any server-running help over at the CS website.
What do you mean by "not as seamless"? Latency should not be a problem on the LAN. I am assuming you are talking about the game running slow...not smooth? It is ALWAYS better to run a game server and NOT play the game on the computer too.
