half-life help

Hi I just download the patch for half-life
ver 1104. I can play online and stuff its just the minigl wont let me run. Has to run off the defalt setings. So I get low fps like 9 to 15 have a voodoo3 3000 I updated all the drivers that I can. I can get 50 to 70 fps in unreal and moto cross madness tryed reinstall the patch and game 3 times still wont let me run in minigl only defalt seting I tryed it with out the patch work good 50 to 60 fps
but when I installed the patch it got messed up again. HELP PLEASE...........

Hi Tileman

Have you tried Wicked GL? Some people say it's better than MiniGL, but I have never used it. Can't hurt to try if MiniGL isn't working though. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Look for drvmap.txt here:
SIERRA\Half-Life\gldrv

open it and make sure it is pointing to the correct directory for 3dfxgl.dll...this line:
gldrv/3dfxgl.dll 3Dfx Mini Driver

Also, the way I fixed mine was to do incremental upgrades instead of the full 1104 upgrade.
