Help To Lower Ping

i have adelphia cable in boston and i cant ping lower that 400 i have a p2 400mhz 128mb ram and a 9 gb 7200rpm HD and a voodoo 3 3000 pci vid card plz help [my friend pings lower than me and he is on 56k!!]

like i said before try the tweaks here and if that doesnt help consoder getting back 56k or if u can get dsl or idsn

Make sure you check your cable stats (at that AnalogX site, some post above has a link) before you go back to 56k. I'm guessing your either getting packet loss, the cable is really bad, or it is the game that is causing the problems and everything else is fine.
