I have a p3700 winme 256 pc133 and Geforce ddr. I also have @home cable and I get 54 to 75% packet loss. I call tech support daily and it seems that they do not care about packet loss on games. They just tell me that I at least I can download web pages fast. I hate @home, but they are they only provider for any fast internet in my area. If someone can Help Please do.

I have @home here in Missouri and the packet loss SUX! I call them all the time, and you are right they dont care about gamers. I might as well have a cable guy living here, they are here so damn much! Irritates the hell out of me. But cable is the only option right now, so I try to live with it. I have tried a few tweaks, none helped at all. I have friends that use free dial up accounts and they can play games pretty much lag free, but I cant! ARRRRGHHHH!!!!!!
yea,
I dont have any usefull information either, but would like to join in the complaining. I have AT&T@home in the St. Louis area. I too have very bad packet loss. When I play Quake online, I get the infamous phone jack every half hour. I havent called them yet. Im just gonna complain about intermittent connections.
I have these problems for the past month....
local cable company could be to blame--not sure...we will see mid-november if it is corrected by new fiber-optic lines.
...unfortunately I already tweaked my registry long-ago as I first became a broadband surfer to get the most out of it--so they arent working this new situation; which is packet loss and loss of synch at peak times of day only...related to congestion and also, IMHO, heavily related to the advent of digital-phone services in my area-->adding to the congestion causing my problems..this will either all come to a head or go away in about 2 weeks.
fingers crossed, waiting.

I may be crazy...but I feal as though my problems are consistant during the day or night. I can have nice connections during peak hours and have problems at night.
