oooooook. after having a cable connection for about 8 months, recently it seems when i am online gaming i am getting horible packetloss. in mechwarrior 3 i have a program that tells me what kinda packetloss im gettin. it says 70-99% packetloss. i am clueless as what to do. all of my online games are like this and i have tried almost every tweak or solution my isp and I could think of. what pisses me off more is that everything used to work fine. if anyone has had this problem or has a solution please tell me! my comp specs: 733 pIII, 256 megs ram 133 fsb, and a GeForce2 annialator 2. help. im clueless as what to do next! oh and BTW, i still get great downloads thru all of this.....

I have the same setup as you do. I also have @home cable and I get 54 to 75% packet loss. I call tech support daily and it seems that they do not care about packet loss on games. They just tell me that I at least I can download web pages fast. I hate @home, but they are they only provider for any fast internet in my area. If someone can Help Please do.

I'm with you guys, @home just plain SUX!
Yeah...I'm with you guys. I have been fine playing games (mainly Tribes) just until recently. That is when I have had terrible packetloss. I have a great setup, and tried everything. I called my cable modem provider, and they don't care at all. The only difference is, I am with Charter Pipeline. I am having the same problems though. I only got my cable modem for gaming, and it still sucks. This bites guys, we ought to do something about it.

I have the same problem..grrrr, My ping is always over a 100 spiking like crazy..almost unplayable and @suckyhome wont do a thing about it
ditto the packet loss.
Nobody seems to have a clue either. Thats to bad. The only way to get results from ATT is for "ALOT" of people to quit ATT. But its so hard to start a revolution...nobody wants to go first. I could always go back to dial up and play very close servers.
I am another @home subscriber suffering these problems...for the past month or so. Are others experiencing these issues seeing a correlation with digital phone services in their respective areas? I think i do....and local cable company says upgrades in the lines, from fiber1 to fiber3, will make my problems go away...we'll see around mid-november...
