I also have the 4 port linksys router hooked up to my AT&T Cable Service (blah) and to 3 computers in my house, one of which has Win2000 and HLDS installed on it (that's it) and whenever I run HLDS I get the "WON Auth Server" message, but of course - the server IP addr. is listed as being 192.168.1.2, a LAN side IP. I've tried all the forwarding methods mentioned in all these posts, including the DMZ. I can't seem to get it to use the WAN Ip. The server works fine...for the computers in my house anyway. I also tried using the "+ip 24.23.whatever" command in the command line to HLDS, then it gives me some error in the program like "Unable to obtain specified dedicated ip, something or other" This, of course, is INCREDIBLY aggrevating
Thanks in advance!!!

You're viewing the local lan ip because you are on the lan. This is just an illusion. If you dial-up to the game server you will see your server listed with the regular ip assigned by your isp. As long as you are on the lan, you will only SEE the local ip
