Ultima Online and cable connections...

I play UO and have just switched to cable modem... now the game is UNPLAYABLE!!
Anyone got any ideas about fixing the problem? I get the runaround from both UO and from my ISP, ISPChannel. Any Imput would be great. TKS

I used to have that problem too with 2000-4000 pings...It fixed itself though, not sure how. They do have a FAQ on support.uo.com about 'High speed connectivity issues', but its kinda vague. Hopefully someone else will be able to help you

OK. Now this is REALY screwy! I just ran UO Trace to see if it is either a connection on UO's end or just plain net traffic. (could be tv watchers too but I live in the boondocks so II'm not too worried about that) Here are my results. 10,000 pings - 3% loss - best time 21ms - worst 120ms - Now acording to UO a GOOD connection is 10% loss and 200ms avg time... Not them .... My computer is more than fine, 366PII, 8GB HD, 96MB RAM....
Not me either... my guess is some kind of hardware prob with the 10 Base/100 Ethernet card or some kind of software prob....
Now that you have that new info see if you can figure that out, cause I'm totaly clueless!!! HEHE

Unplayable in what sense? Is it choppy? Are you locking up? Are you using a proxy? How about 'normal' internet use - is that ok? I really don't know that much about this sort of thing but if its not lag then it sounds like something is wrong with your network card or its settings.
