Ok.. I hear a lot about ADSL, and most of it was good while I had cable. I noticed that most of the pings lower than my 40 were ADSL'ers. So, When it became available to me, I jumped on the chance.
Now, I'm facing a 180+ ping on every server I frequent (Quake 2). I have found, used and tweaked every possible registry tweaker and spent hours trying to get the game settings just right. People on the same service I'm on, no more than 3 miles away, are getting pings 2/3rds lower than mine. The brilliant folks at GTE informed me that when they performed the "line test" on my house, I received the highest rating, and I can D/L at about 680 kbps, and upload at 121. Just really curious to know why.. and I can't go back to cable. The only way ADSL came into my area was because I moved all the way cross country.. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/frown.gif
