need help! or team mate

what i want to do, is take the 1991 Microsoft game Ski Free and give it muliplayer, either over the internet, or over a LAN, or even both if possible. I know quite a bit about computers and know a bit of Visual Basics and C++, but i just dont know where to start and if this is even possible. but i would like to do it.

Ski free? I hated being eaten by that monster all the time! you can never get by him!

I really don't have the time to help- but be wary of copyright stuff, legal mumbo-jumbo, etc. There is always some crap out there waiting to get you.
