Im on a AMD 800
128 PC133 sdram
and Creative Labs(3DLabs?) Annihilator 2 card
When I try to run HL from a Desktop shortcut I get the error message
"You Half-life Executable has been modified\ Please Scan your HD for viruses and reinstall HalfLife"
WTF! Do I have a virus my antivirus program can't detect? Or is my game just realy ****ed up hte *ss badly?

yeap... I've had that before.. actually it was a virus for me.. I've reinstalled the game 5 times and it still wont work..

run virus scann.. 500 files infected.. formated and I'm good to go. or maybe it's a diff prob...

Go to your readme file for Half-Life and it explains the exact meaning of that error message you recieved. It could also be a corrupt portion on your hard drive.

I would uninstall all you half life files and run a virus check. Re-Install and you should be good to go. It's proably just a corrupted file. Half-Life just says it could be a virus because as we know they corrupt files too!

Happened to me too and it was just corrupted files.

Had that same darn prob,turned out it was a bugga(virus),Reformatted,HD had alotof crap on it anyway

What about previous mods such as cs and tfc?
do i have to reinstall htem also?
can i at least save the key configs?

if those files are infected.. u save those files.. put it on yer newly formated computer.. yeah.. not a good idea...

I would reinstall the cs and tfc too, that way you will have a fresh start and less chance of the problem re-occuring.

Wipe it all out! Start fresh.
