Choppy internet play with V5 card...

Hello..I have a new gaming system here with plenty of horsepower. Athlon 800, Voodoo 5 card , etc, etc. I race Grand prix Legends all the time. Brought my new machine home game worked fine offline and online. Last two days game has been choppy online ( I am on cable connect but even dial up was choppy).What could be causing this unexpected problem? Frame rates are where they should be, no IRQ problems,etc. i can't seem to figure?

well, whats your ping when playing these games?

Thanks for the reply. Pings are good 50-150. There is a problem with the network in the Buffalo, NY area. I am still able to use the network but I believe I am feeling the effects of almost the whole area being down.
