When I play many games online I often get ping around 150-200. Also i sometimes get hiigh amounts of packet loss on servers connecting to people with cable in the same city. This is comparable to modem users. I know others that have the @home service and get pings well under 100 and I also know others that live in my area that experience the same problems. I know it is not my computer speed. Is there a way to solve this, or is it just because of my location?

I know what you're talking about. man, at first i thought the lag i was getting sometimes (i'm using @home as well) was because of other people in the server, bringing the total average lag up, but then i would go into servers with people (ususally on Quake 3) with little lag, and i had 150 +!!! http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/eek.gif that annoys the hell outa me
