I recently experienced a nerve-wrecking problem with my DSL; I'd start up a game, and dsl would cut out and reset. No more though.
This is the issue:
Your monitor produces more magnetism as it de-gauses and resets the resolution (ie when you open a big game and it makes that popping noise as hardware 3d acceleration takes over), this causes the mechanism within the external dsl to reset.... but only if it is too close.
So, if you experience my problem, try moving your dsl modem away from your monitor or any other major sources of magnetism http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
