System resets by itself during Quake 3 play

My system resets for some reason when playing Quake 3 Arena over the Internet. It's really frustrating when I got a good game going on. I have Pacbell DSL and using a Linksys router with 2 systems hooked up using 3com NIC's (3c905-TX). Is there a recommended set up I should use for onling gaming? Anybody have a clue as to what is causing this reset problem?

This could possibly be a PCI problem I know I used to have this with my old video card make sure the video card isn't sharing the same IRQ as the network card or any other PCI card on your board. Also try using conservitive settings in your bios for memory timing and what not.

Im my experiences with this prob it is either one of the following probs.
- Power Supply starting to crap out
- Bad memory or 2 or more incompatable memory chips with one another.
- A heat issue, meaning maybe your CPU or video card are not staying cool enough to be functional.

Thats all I can think of for now, and do what dougnukem said and set bios settings to defaults.

It's most likely a heat issue...

Do you have your CPU or Video card overclocked? If so then you might want to clock them back down a little.

Thanks for your help guys...I did not do any overclocking on any of my compnents. I think I'll try a new Power Supply, maybe the Turbo Cool 425Watt. I think I have one of those cheap PS.

Wow, 425Watts! Are you planning on plugging an air conditioner into that thing?

I went for a Sparkle 300W PS...only $44! Well I think my automatic resetting problem is gone, but once in a while my system hangs when only playing Quake3.
