Dear All,
First thank you so very much in advance for any kindly help, tips and advice that may be offered in response to plea for help.
I have a home LAN (read gaming heaven), sharing MediaOne cable bandwidth via a software NAT solution called WinRoute (published by TinySoftware.com). The problem is that we cannot play Ages of Empires 2 (or any other MS game) on the Zone because it only allows 1 computer per 1 IP connect. Since the other PCs (with independent legit copies of AOE2) are trying to connect to the zone through the cable modem (1 IP) only 1 PC can connect and play.
When I queried MS Gaming Zone's technical chat about the issue, they said that it would be possible to get the entire home LAN to connect to the Zone using my setup (but recommended getting a cable modem router.. i was thinking about getting the UMAX 3000). Only problem was that they couldn't support me, since it would require a 'ton of configuration'. The helpful folks in the tech chat did indicate the use of a technique called "IP Spoofing" would be involved.
Can anyone please direct me to any resources, or offer any help so that I may overcome this difficulty with MS Gaming Zone?
Thanks so very much again,
Sincerely,
Faisal
