okay... here's the deal.
i have a small LAN here at home and have my server and workstation here (at my desk, in front of my "throne"). i currently have the 2 systems set up totally independant of each other hardware-wise (2 monitors, 2 keyboards, etc.,).
i recently picked up a Linksys KVM switch in a hardware trade (along with a MS wireless mouse and some other stuff). i have 2 halflife licences (well, i actually have 4 for all the comps) for the machines. the server is used for LAN gaming and the occasional 2 vs 2 internet game, but the monitor and mouse are not located in the optimal position for actually playing on it (so therefore i dont use it to actually play on another server). if i employ the KVM switch, i can switch which comp is feeding my main monitor by simply double-pressing the ctrl key. no need to even turn my head or grab the other mouse.
now to cut to the chase...... i do not cheat at multiplayer games (or most other things for that matter. ruins my sense of pride), and have been playing CS for about a year and a half. i have thought sometimes (after being killed on a server) about how nice it would be to have 2 players on the same team so that when i die, i can still play..... just as another player.
the problem is...... could this could be construed as either cheating, or attempting to cheat? i understand how if i had players on both teams then i could use the other to scout so i would know the position of the opposing team-members. but if i had them on the same team, then i would just be able to enjoy having another "life" and play a little more. radio messages sent between normal players can serve the same purpose as scouting with the first player of mine, so maybe thats a little grey area.
anyways, just curious about what you people think.
