okay... here's the deal.

i have a small LAN here at home and have my server and workstation here (at my desk, in front of my "throne"). i currently have the 2 systems set up totally independant of each other hardware-wise (2 monitors, 2 keyboards, etc.,).

i recently picked up a Linksys KVM switch in a hardware trade (along with a MS wireless mouse and some other stuff). i have 2 halflife licences (well, i actually have 4 for all the comps) for the machines. the server is used for LAN gaming and the occasional 2 vs 2 internet game, but the monitor and mouse are not located in the optimal position for actually playing on it (so therefore i dont use it to actually play on another server). if i employ the KVM switch, i can switch which comp is feeding my main monitor by simply double-pressing the ctrl key. no need to even turn my head or grab the other mouse.

now to cut to the chase...... i do not cheat at multiplayer games (or most other things for that matter. ruins my sense of pride), and have been playing CS for about a year and a half. i have thought sometimes (after being killed on a server) about how nice it would be to have 2 players on the same team so that when i die, i can still play..... just as another player.

the problem is...... could this could be construed as either cheating, or attempting to cheat? i understand how if i had players on both teams then i could use the other to scout so i would know the position of the opposing team-members. but if i had them on the same team, then i would just be able to enjoy having another "life" and play a little more. radio messages sent between normal players can serve the same purpose as scouting with the first player of mine, so maybe thats a little grey area.

anyways, just curious about what you people think.

I dont think its cheating. People use that thingy where they can talk to each other dead or alive and tell there friend where the enemy is.
I have seen it go as far as two kids join, and go T, then they call each other on the phone and give the opposing teams poistion away. (free look mode)

I say go for it..

Only thing I consider cheating is scripts...Instant headshots...etc Ya know crap to make you better.

In no way will that make you a better player.

There is no instant headshot cheat aka aimbot. It would be impossible to make a cheat/hack that could possibly give you the exact location of the head since the head isnt a fixed location on the map. what you could do is make a program/hack that uses the name popup as a refrence then tell it to move x amout up then fire. the only problem with this is its hard enough just get a players name to pop up now it use to be easier

like i said it was alot easier to have the name pop ups. I hate cheaters to especailly wall hack cheaters. there use to be so many diffrent cheats for cs in the early betas though. you name it they had a cheat for it

No I meant the aimbot cheat exsisted. I dunno how, but it came from Cliffe over at CS.net, So I believe it...Like I said it was back in 1.0

i remember a hack back then that was an aimbot type cheat but it wasnt head shots it was just when ever your cursor went across an enemy name it would fire.
