Quake 3 Master Server Problems?

Is there a problem with the Quake 3 master server because when I go to multiplayer, Im only seeing a few servers with really high pings even though the list is a couple thousand. I just noticed this yesterday. If I refresh the list it still gives me the same results...really slow. I have been running Q3 forever and this is the first time this has happened...never had a problem before. I'm running 1.27h.

I am still using point release 1.16

If I update to 1.27g then 1.27n do I need new mods?,, and if so where should I get them?

1.16 yikes! yes for most you will need to update your mod data base. As they are so many mods out there let me know which ones you are interested in and I will post links
also it's 1.27h not N. also there will be a new PR released soon you might want to wait cause most admins will switch to the new pr and things are useually hecktic when there is a ne pr some peeps like to wait till all the bugs and stuff are worked out

I should have updated longtime ago, never had a problem playing so I'v never worried about it.

Mods? like the grapple hook. What others are there? like inlighten me, what are the best mods and where can I get them and I will try them out.

Typically I have very little time to hop around looking for this stuff If you could help me out GRIM that would be great.

From what I have seen on this BBs your the man for Q3.
