Shouldnt the router be able to block someone from pinging me? And i cant get ZoneAlarm to block pings either? Any help would be appriciated.
Most firewalls won't block pings. But Black Ice will auto close requested ports. And even w/ zonealarm if you don't respond to the pings then to the "pingee" you appear to not exist at that ip.

I think the Linksys router itself will respond to pings. I have used both Both BlackIce and ZoneAlarm with and without the router. Without the router, I get a clean bill of health (Stealth on all counts). With the router, I get (GRC) ports closed and on Secure-Me net, I get a score of -0 instead of "firewall". I don't beleive that my system is insecure, however.

Yup thx, i figured out about the router responding. But i still cant get the box to popup and say Firewall blocked Ping from, when usinf the router with ZoneAlarm. Is it possible to do?
I use a combo of ZoneAlarm and E-safe. With E-safe I can't block ports from sending or receiving anything. Believe me it works since I had Netbus Trojans scans thru their ports, succesfully blocked, and E-safe blocks them, http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif. Both programs, properly configured, are awesome. I'm totally invisible and blocked all around. I have the same switch box with no problems noted. I hope this helps you out.

When you are being pinged with the router, the main IP address is being pinged and the router is responding. Your internal IP address is not being pinged (unless your machine is on the DMZ and all ports are being forwarded to you) because of NAT routing. ZoneAlarm would be great if running on the machine on the DMZ to keep outsiders away from the main PC.
