At least yours booted up. I had to go into a dos promt and shut off as many things as I could find running via "Listsvc" command. I never was able to shut off Norton Antivirus 2000. I ended up re-formatting. The microsoft tech said there were issues with Norton and recommended taking it off before I ran the service pack, though the service pack failed to mention this. Take a look at this.
