ok netgear rt311 keeps timing out...

ok i had some trouble with my rt311 for about a couple of months, has anyone experienced the rt311 router time out when you are using your web browser to browse the net? i have comcast @home, my system name in the router is the id they gave me cc.... dhcp is disabled,i set the ip to dynamic. so has anyone had this problem?.Well for me in order to browse the internet i have to keep changing my isp name from comcast to @home

Well, g-c0de. There can be a number of problems.
1. Your network cards can have a short in the transciever and is dropping packets

2. Your hub can have a problem and is shorting out.

3. Your cables, if there over any electrical devices it can cause packet loss, or th cables can be just bad.

4. Maybe the netgear released a firmware update to a revision of your router. I suggest getting it and upgrading.

I have a RT311 with @home, also i have SDSL for my bidnuss, The @home works fine, i dont have a problem with it. maybe its just your hardware. Maybe you should goto like compUSA and get urself a nice 3com hub.

ok thanks rmac, i updated the firmware for my netgear rt311 router, and it doesnt time out anymore, thanks man
