Hey Saved,

Have you tried it yet? How was it?

Hello Prey,
I have used the older version for some time and it works well. It never requires any kind of up grade in files. I do not have the newest one installed yet. It seems to have many more features that can be configured the way you like.

Hi saved
Help me here...
Thanks for pointing us into the direction of that "surf" page, but I have a question.
Does this mean that I have to have an AV product, a firewall AND this application?
The application appears to be good, based on the write up on the page....I tried to download their test file (of course it asks for me to accept a cookie and I refused) and having done so, it would not be able to test my system.
So if we are stringent with accepting cookies would the threat be lessened?
Please do not consider this a flame on my part, just an open discussion, as I do appreciate what you have contributed.

Hello fredra,
I think that it would depend on what AV you use as well as what firewall. I use Norton and ZA. I have had certain exe.programs get past both my AV and my firewall and this program stop it. So I guess my answer is it depends on how far a person wants or needs to go with the security. We all know that nothing is perfect and no amount of protection is 100%, so I guess it becomes a personal judgement call. In my case I am sort of an open target to certain people. As a Christian with a clear message on my web page and I write and witness openly on the net I get a lot of responses that are unfriendly. It is necessary for me to give my email and go places that can be dangerous so as to reach as many as possble. Some people feel that there is an open season on those who do this and they try and cause problems, so for me all are needed and even more. I actually have several others I use in conjuction with these mentioned.

As to the cookie. I understand about the cookies and I too do not let them in normally. I assume that you know that even this site places cookies on your system. I have a program that stops them, but in such cases as this I may let them in and delete them later if I chose. The program I have lets me identify which ones to keep and which ones to delete. It does all the work for me after I set it up.

So again I think it is what anyone feels is their personal need and just how far they want to go with it, but yes this added program will add more security since the other two will miss some things. I can tell you that it comes with an uninstall that removes it very well if you do not like it. I hope that I have been of some help and answered your question.

hey saved, i think your paranoid about the 2 firewalls thing, because the 2 firewalls will be doing the same exact thing, think about it, you are just wasting space on your hard drive with 2 firewalls, for security 1 anvtivirus and 1 firewall is good enough

I think it's a shame that any of us have to use multiple defenses while being online! Unfortunately, in the real world, we need all the protection we can get now a days. Adding this program to the arsenal is like buying (only this is free) more coverage on your insurance. I never really had problems, when I was on dial-up, but now, on broadband cable, my security defenses are tested on a monthly basis just about. Sometimes twice monthly. ;)

Hello G-C0DE,
Thanks for the advise on two firewalls, but I really don't have two firewalls at least not what is considered traditional fairewalls. The Surfinguard is not really considered a firewall I don't think. It does not use any dats or updates to stop exe. It just stops anything that trys to write to your computer no matter what. I have had some things get past my ZA and have been imfected causing a crash so that is the reason for the surfinguard.

Hi saved
I for one respect you for your beliefs and refuse to join that school of thought.
I also applaud you for trying to make a difference.
Now to the topic ........
Thanks for your input, it was informative. Based on your insight, I think I will try it on my test PC (it has ZA and InnoculateIT already installed) and see how it works.

You have to use UBB coding in order for the image to get the image to display on the board. This is how it's done:
