View Full Version : Blocking packets with a Linksys Router Firewall

Hey guys I was on IRC the other day and got packeted off even though I was behind my Linksys hardware firewall.
My modem lights were practically constant and I was unable to do anything online.
Doesn't seem to make any sense though because I figure the firewall would just reject the packets and let me continue surfing like normal.
Any suggestions?

Are you blocking WAN Requests under the Advanced tab. Get the log and see who was doing it and report them. You need to do that for it to ignore requests made from the outside.

Yeap blocking WAN requests as well.

Upgrade to the latest firmware. Then reboot your machinces. Then QUICKLY reboot the router. If you don't do it quickly there is a good chance the router will go back to original settings, including firmware.
