Anyone use this? I just got done reading the review on the front page and it looks pretty decent, but I want to hear from some people that are using it before I dump Zone Alarm (which I still think is the easiest firewall to use)
Was wondering along the same lines. Currently using ZA but after reading everything kinda leaning towards Tiny. But as soon as i goto tiny then they will have some controversy probably. Hrm, this kinda reminds me of what happened to a company where I live. MultiMillion dollar company. Doing great and business was great. Someone sent an Anonymus letter, stating that they "living above thier means" so to speak, to I cant remember where, and now that company is out of business. This was a major company, now, due to one letter, gone. Power of the pen is mighty. So remember to stick to your own beliefs on this one. Dont just take one forum, and let it warp your sense of perception. Form your own opinions and go from there.
:D

So meanwhile, we sit and debate. While on the frontpage is a clip stating that tiny is now free and the best personal fire wall out there. blowing away zone and black ice. hehe. Hrm. Any Questions now?? Think I will make the switch sooner then anticipated. Any tips for uninstalling zone completly?? Little .dll's n all. :)
Tiny Personal Firewall.... It's Free Now - posted March 19, 9:12 PM EST by mcdougall
I thought I would mention that Tiny Software's Personal Firewall is now a free product for home users.
I reviewed that product here (link on the right) a while back when it was a $29.99 purchase.
I seriously believe it's the best home firewall out right now. It's changed a little, but you can still check out the old review of it get an idea of what it's like. I guarantee it will protect you much better than other firewalls like BlackIce and ZoneAlarm.
Just copy pasted. :)
I guess you havent read my post : ) If you know a bit about Tcp/udp and icmp Get it! it's not all automated like za but it offers more configuration options and better protection
Here is a starter page for Tiny:
Setting up Tiny firewall (http://www.legolas.ca:8080/sec2.html)
I have been playing with it also but the rules......
I think once learned it will be very secure but in the mean time..ZA will stand guard.
If you understand how to configure a firewall, Tiny will be the better choice maybe in the near future as it seems to still be a work in progress. Each build gets better, but the bugs are not completely ironed out as of yet. ZoneAlarm/ZoneAlarm Pro is a good firewall, especially if you are limited in your understanding with regard to data transference between computers/networks and surrounding networks. Ultimately the more highly configurable the firewall is, the better. Only you can decide if you're ready to take that next step :D
