Boon; Go to Control Panel > Internet Options, then click on; Restricted Sites, then on 'sites box' just below it.

Type in; *.doubleclick.net
*.doubleclick.com

type in *.gohip.com and any others you don't want.

Be sure to use the '*.' hope this helps.

Its not supposed to stop it or block it, but it is supposed to use very High security settings so that nothing harmful should happen to your comptuer. you also should type in "*.Doubleclick.net", just without the quotes. They are both the same site, so you need .com and .net

The same thing happend to when I ran ad-aware. I deleted it and I also just put it under the blocked sites list after reading this post.

Go to the Steve Gibson website to get a program called OptOut. It will remove any spyware stored in your computer (free).

Jeez! Steve Gibson came out 2 months ago and said OptOut is NOT being updated and is being abandoned. He recommends using AdAware!!

Do not go BACKWARDS to OptOut -- use AdAware as Steve recommends.

Hopefully to end all these referrals for OptOut, here is the EXACT quote from Steve:
___________________________________________

3. OPTOUT and AD-AWARE:

I decided that my long-term plans for OptOut were wrong: Rather than scanning the user's system for Spyware, I should check the user's system for its firewall's VULNERABILITY to known AND unknown spyware. This is the initiative I am now launching with LeakTest.

But there is STILL a very pressing need for a high-quality spyware scanner. I can recommend -- without reservation -- the EXCELLENT, comprehensive, and completely FREE Spyware scanning and removal tool by LavaSoft: 'Ad-Aware'

:) Try CookieWall!
It's free, easy to configure and stops cookies from getting into the system.
You can program acceptable cookies to stay. temporarily accept one to access a site or set to never accept the bad ones like doubleclick, akamai and so on.
It's from AnalogX and downloadable from WebAttack (http://www.webattack.com).

youbecha- I didn't mean to jump on you, but a lot of people have been recommending OptOut recently and I wanted to clarify this. I have NO idea why Steve leaves OptOut up on his site...

I think I've come to sum it up, most all 'Freeware' programs that are by big corporations with ad's generally contain Spyware...
