Popup Windows stop, anyone?????????

there is several website that i like to visit but they have a lot of popup advertise windows. if i go into that site and sit there for about 5 min, i will have about 20 windows. Will this lower my CPU resource and my bandwidth? how can i cure this thing? let say "hack" this thing?

scoot; Looks like a handy prog. I never get 'Pop-ups', tho.

Seems I remember disabling them Manually once, when I came across it. Don't rem where.
