Here's how I have things set in IE:

Temporary cookies are on (I spend alot of time at message boards while online).
Stored cookies are off.
Java is diabled under Microshaft VM.
Active scripting is off (no popup hell).

Anything else I should disable?

Before anyone suggests getting rid of IE I would if it weren't my prefered browser, though Opera is a close second.

What does disabling userdata do for you?

Consider this;

ActiveX [any].... disable
Software Channel Permission....high
Across Domains [both]....prompt
Don't Prompt for Client Certificate....disable
VM Java Permission....high

Logon net Zone Only....check

Can vary to suit your needs.
