Whats the best Anti-Virus program out there??
I have Norton Anti-Virus 2001 but I hate it, hardly any updates on Virus info. Seems to takes up system resource also.
So which is the best??

Norton sucks. It uses up lots of resources. When I use to use it on WinME, I always got illegal operations in "navshell.dll".
InoculateIT is my choice to use. It doesn't use up much resources, works and has VERY frequent updates (a couple times a week atleast). And best of all, it's FREE. The program is free and the updates are free.

Tried Norton & McAfee, didn't like either of them.
Now use InnoculateIT on 3 boxes.
Is freeware and works better than any I ever tried.
2 years+ on one box, no probs.

Innoculate is an excellent program, consistanly catching all know virus in the wild. Whether you are talking free or pay programs, it will protect you as good as any...

http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif Depends on how conscious you want to be with security.
Up until recently I was using AVG and had done so for nearly 2 years. Never let me down and I was happy with it
Now I am using InnoculateIT and I am happy with it, although it is not presented as well as AVG.
If you want to get really heavy you can use both of these programs. Once you have downloaded InnoculateIT, disable it and download AVG.
When you configure both programs allow only the email scan in AVG and allow all but the email scanner in InnoculateIT, or if you prefer switch them to use AVG but I would not run this way. AVG is better with email.
Hope it helps.

You may not know that InnoculateIT PE and VET Antivirus are from the same Company (http://www.cai.com/).

Excellent point Croc!
I make it a habit to never recommend running 2 AV proggies at one time on a Windows box as that is asking for trouble.
But I know some people that use your described method and love it.
AVG is very upfront in letting you know that it is on top of your email. Inoculate does the same, however you won't hear from it until it actually catches something.
Some people enjoy a better piece of mind seeing AVG tell you that it is clean.
Inoculate is running realtime as well. It merely doesn't say it has checked the file, but it is still there checking them...
I have been pondering paying the $150 for Vet, for the last 2 months. Next re format, I will probably go ahead and get it...

JANDOENT..... Why pay for VET when you aleeady have it if you are running InnoculateIT PE?
There may be a few small bits that are different but I would hazard a guess and say it is the same.
Theonly reason for going to VET would be in a commercial instead of a personal use of the program..
Either way it has to be a winner.
